  • The Black Bay Chrono is a genuine hybrid — dive-watch DNA fused with a motorsport chronograph — and its movement tells a remarkable industry story. It is built on a calibre developed with Breitling, the product of a 2017 agreement in which Tudor supplied Breitling its in-house movement and Breitling supplied Tudor a chronograph base in return. The 'reverse panda' configuration — black dial, white sub-registers — is the sharper, more aggressive of the two dial options.

  • Two competing brands openly swapping movements is almost unheard of in Swiss watchmaking, where manufacture credentials are guarded closely. The Tudor-Breitling exchange was a rare public acknowledgement that collaboration could serve both better than rivalry. The result is a chronograph with column-wheel architecture and a vertical clutch — serious horological content inside a watch that still reads, first and foremost, as a Tudor diver.
